Therapists need other therapists
As a practicing therapist, I know how isolating it can feel. We don’t always have co-workers to consult with nor are we all lucky enough to have a regular and accessible consultation group.
In addition to EMDR consulting, I offer more general therapy consultation services to help you serve your client’s well.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia
I have a passion for consulting about CBT-I, a treatment I learned in my Internship and Postdoctoral training at the VA medical center where I trained. I have over a decade of clinical experience in this treatment, as well as supervised experience.
I developed a Behavior Health Consultant clinic for the Primary Care Doctors at my current workplace. 50% of my patients in that clinic have insomnia and utilize CBT-I as the first line treatment.
I recently completed another training called “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I): Evidence-based Insomnia Interventions for Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Chronic Pain, & more. “ It consisted of 19 hours of continuing education.
Consultation is not supervision
Consultation is collaborative and non-hierarchal in nature. Both memebers are usually independendly licensed.
Supervision is hierarchal and evaluatiive.
Consultatants have no legal responsibily or liability for the patient care.
Supervisors hold legal responsible and liability for patient care.
Consultation is flexible and can done on an “as needed” basis.
Supervision hours are required by state licensing boards and there are regulations on frequency, duration, etc.
